System Requirements:
- Kino Download Manager
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- Windows XP
- Windows Media Player 9 or higher (not yet tested on Vista)
- A 300K or better Internet connection: we recommend a cable or DSL connection.
Kino on Demand is only currently available in the USA and Canada. Files may not be authorized from computers outside these territories.
Kino allows the movie file to be authorized on up to 5 machines. Play counts are unrestricted. You are permitted to transfer to personal players that support WindowsMedia licenses.
The file and related WindowsMedia license may be backed up.
HERE ARE SOME ANSWERTS TO SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
COPYRIGHT PROTECTION
As a film destributor we are currently obliged to provide copyright protection
on our films. The files from Kino on Demand have limited authorizatoin to
prevent unauthorized distribution of files. For many of the films in our
collection we are not able to distribute outside of the USA and Canada.
WINDOWS MEDIA
The files we are offering use the Windows Media Digital Rights Management.
Currently the files have 5 authorizations for personal use and can be played
unlimited times. The files can be played on devices that support Microsoft
copyright protection (for example, Play4Sure products). With the right equipment
and the Microsoft Windows Media Center you can even play these films on
your television set.
MACINTOSH SUPPORT:
Kino on Demand does not currently support Macintosh Computers. We'd like nothing
more (in fact, we our a Mac based office), but the reality is that majority of
our clients are using the Windows operating system. As new technologies become
available it's our hope that Kino's films will be platform independent.
FUTURE SERVICES:
Kino on Demand will be our showcase for future products and we are exploring
new ideas that will support our movie viewing audience in the future. Keep
