About the Collection

In addition to our existing catalogue of 35mm silent movie prints, including films by Chaplin, Eisenstein, Murnau and other leading directors, Kino International is proud to announce our representation of the KILLIAM film Library for theatrical distribution through Worldview Entertainment. Consisting of many of the earliest and best images ever recorded on film,
the vast majority of the KILLIAM collection has been preserved on modern safety stock, copied from the earliest surviving generation of celluloid, usually from the original nitrate based materials which have since decomposed.

The collection was assembled over forty years ago by Paul Killiam through acquisition from the Estate of D.W. Griffith, and later, a large portion of the collection of Thomas Edison, at a time when few cared enough to preserve motion picture heritage. Since that time, additions to the inventory from have augmented the renown of the KILLIAM Library of silent classic motion pictures. We are proud to present seven of these titles for theatrical release along with our existing catalogue of 35 mm silent prints because we believe that there is no better way to see a great film than as the filmmaker intended – projected on a big screen in a darkened theater.
